After the oven has been on for awhile it will start beepin the f3 code. We replaced the sensor and it just did it again. The difference now is I was able to turn the oven back on and it is working again. What could the problem still be?

Check for a bad connection or a bare wire touching the cabinet...check for 1100 ohm resistence at room temp of sensor. could be a bad one again,..or the board is acting up, but, check for bare wire

Whirlpool RBS245PDB16 EO F3 code
Since the sensor is new, I'd check the wiring between the sensor and the control board. You need to check for any breaks (loss of continuity). Check the connections for the wiring harness for bent pins or corrosion.

(If you want to rule out a bad sensor, unplug it. Then check the resistance across the pins. Also check for a short between the sensor case and each of the two pins.)

If the sensor and wiring are good, then the control board is probably faulty. Unfortunately, that part isn't available at most sites. There may be some rare places that rebuild or have re-manufactured the electronic control.

Here a list of Whirpool oven fault codes. The codes had been collected from different service manuals. This was a memo that I wrote for my own use. I think this can be useful to owners and technicians.

WHIRLPOOL - most models
Range/Stove and Oven Fault Codes, Common error codes.

F1 - Analog control board Failure
Disconnect for one minute - if error comes back, replace control board
F1 - Shorted control keypad
Replace keypad
F3 - Oven temperature sensor open
Replace oven temperature probe
F2 - Oven temperature sensor shorted
Replace oven temperature probe
F3 - Oven too hot
Replace oven temperature probe
F3 - Clean temperature too hot
Replace oven probe
F5 - Door latch switch fault
Test and replace the door switch.

F5 - Push button stuck or faulty
Check for binding of pushbuttons and control panel glass. If OK, replace touch panel

MAYTAG OVEN ERROR CODE F3
Hi Janine.

F3 means "Shorted oven temperature sensor" and it is returned when the oven electronic control detects a wrong impedance value from the oven temperature sensor circuit.

The oven temperature sensor is a probe located inside the oven cavity. The sensor can be removed from the oven and tested using a multimeter set on impedance. The impedance reading across the two sensor's contacts at room temperature must be about 1100 Ohms. Impedance increment rate is 100 Ohms more for every 50 degrees temperature increase. If the reading is sensibly different from this value the sensor must be replaced.

The sensor is indicated as part number 11 in the exploded view available here.

The sensor is held by two screws. In order to replace the sensor disconnect power, disconnect the connector attached to the sensor, undo the two screws and remove the sensor. Perform operations in reverse order to install the new sensor.

GE OVEN THROWS F2 AND F3 CODES SOME TIMES WORKS FOR 45 MINUTES BEFORE CODE
Hello,

The F2 code means that the oven overheated by at least 100degrees(a bad sensor will cause that)
the F3 means that the oven sensor is shorted,so both of them are consistiant with defective oven tempature sensor and the sensor should be replaced.

The oven sensor is a pictured here oldtech2332_134.jpg
It is located in the oven baking chamber and can be replaced by unscrewing the screws from the bracket at the end of,pull it out unplug it,then reverse that process to install the new one.
With 2 different codes pointing to a bad sensor its apretty safe bets its bad.

My built in oven AKZ 110 is showing F 03 and nothing happens when I try to tune it in to work just stays on F 03 no fan no light either

Fault codes F1 and F2
Just two work there:
1.- Replace the touchpad or the clock (ERC) if the code "F1" is displayed. Disconnect the ribbon connector to the touchpad. If no code is displayed after an hour, replace the touchpad. If the code displays again, replace the clock.
2.- Replace the oven temperature sensor if "F2," "F3" or "F4" is displayed. "F2" indicates the oven temperature is too hot and the oven temperature sensor is suspect. "F3" or "F4" indicates the oven temperature sensor or shorted or open.

F3 and f5 error codes on maytag gas wall oven
(((F-3)))

This is a Shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check the following.

Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.


(((F-5)))

This is a Watchdog and hardware conflict.

This is not repairable. you will need to replace the control board or (erc)-(clock)

Get f-3 code after oven on for awhile
F3 is Open oven temperature sensor circuit, to fix this you need to read oven temperature sensor circuit at oven temperature sensor ( approx 1000 ohms at room temp); check for cut or pinched wire or loss of contact, if wirings are ok, then replace the probe.
