I just purchased a 94 740il. The radio was locked out so I got the unlock code. It took me 4 tries to put code in right. Now the radio turns on but all i get is a low squelch. it is constant and does not vary with the volume knob. All the functions of the radio work but all I get as far as sound is a constant low squelch. is the radio bad or is this part of the anti-theft system. I was told to reset the the computer by touching negative and positive cables together for 45 sec.

Most likely your antennae wire popped off the radio. Anti-theft usually locks you out after a 3rd time of entering the wrong code. Then you have to leave power off to it for a day and try again.

The radio in my 2012 accord ex is not turning on. I have checked all the fuses and wiring. This was after I unplugged the battery. And it is not asking for a code there is no lights in the LCD at all.

The radio went into a security lock mode when the battery was disconnected. The manufacturer provides an unlock code (4-5 digits) that must be entered into the radio to unlock the radio. This is on a card that is provided to the original owner from the dealer and is normally in the packet of information that is in the glove box upon purchase. If you cannot find the code, you may have to remove the radio to get the serial number and then contact a dealer to get the unlock code.

Changing battery 2001 Lumina and radio lock up.

someone (hopefully you) set the 3 or 4 digit security code on the radio. when power is disconnected, like if someone steals your radio, the radio locks and cannot be used. the code can be from 000 to 1999. the hour and minute buttons are used to enter the numbers. 2000 choices - good luck
to unlock the system:
1 turn on ignition - LOC will appear
2 press MN and '000' will appear
3 press MN again until you see the last 2 digits of the code you want to try
4 press HR until you see the first 1 or 2 digit of the code you want to try
5 press AM FM
6 SEC will appear if you got it right - LOC will show if you got it wrong
good luck

My 1997 honda accord radio

Unlocking Error E3 on Honda AccordI had the same problem after my battery died and I didn't know what "Code" meant so I just pushed buttons until I got Error E3 and it locked up. You need to disconnect one battery terminal for 30 seconds or so, then reconnect, and the radio will say "Code" again. Type in the 5 digit code fount on the Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card (a white credit card size card that comes with the vehicle at the time of purchase). This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state. It worked for me, so I hope that helps.
Try this
I discovered a very easy and FREE way to fix your radio. Make sure your radio is OFF. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time. Turn the radio on and your SERIAL NUMBER will appear. 4 numbers first and then 4 more. Write them down (obviously) then call (800) 999-1009. Make sure you have your VIN number handy because they will ask for it. They will ask for your name and approx. milage, and your radio's serial number. They will then give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN!

hope this helps.
thanks.

Need radio code for 2001 honda accord lx anti theft lock code to unlock radio

*** Please click the "Was this helpful" Yes thumbs up! ***

FREE and EASY methods to get your Honda radio UNLOCK CODE. (Dealerships usually charge)

Assuming you don't have the Anti-Theft Code and Serial Number that is found on the credit card sized Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card that comes with the vehicle at the time of purchase and is usually found in the glove compartment....

You have FREE options to retrieve that code by phone or on the internet BUT, the RADIO SERIAL NUMBER is REQUIRED (no matter what). (see bottom about removing ERROR E3)

***IF your Honda was made BEFORE 2001 the serial number MAY not be accessible without removing the radio from the vehicle.***

* TO GET THE SERIAL NUMBER (so that you can get the unlock code)

1. Get something to write with and on (you'll need it to write down the serial number)
2. Put the ingnition key in and turn it until your able to turn your radio on (accessories position).
3. Then turn your radio OFF by it's knob/button (but leave the ingition key in place).
4. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time.
5. Turn the radio on while pressing down both the 1 and 6 buttons.(***IF your Honda doesn't have preset buttons on the radio then hold down the top part of the 'Seek/Skip' button AND the top part of the 'Change Disk' button instead.*** )
6. Write down the 4 numbers you see first and then 4 more that display. These eight numbers are the SERIAL NUMBER. This is NOT your CODE.
7. Make sure your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is handy to get the unlock code. (can be found on your insurance card, driver's side door jam, small plate on dashboard by registration and inspection stickers, etc)

* TO GET THE UNLOCK CODE (using the radio Serial Number and VIN)

---Internet option:

1. Go to https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ (YES, it's run BY HONDA and IT'S FREE)
2. Follow on screen instructions (Serial Number and VIN required)
3. Type in the 5 digit code into your radio. This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state.

-OR-

---Telephone option:

1. Call American Honda Customer Relations (800) 999-1009
2. When the automated message starts 'Press 3' for 'Radio and Navigation Codes'.
3. Tell the Customer Service Agent you need your radio code. (They will ask for your name, your radio's serial number, VIN, etc)
4. When they give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN and KEEP IT SAFE!
5. Type in the 5 digit code into your radio. This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state.

* REMOVING ERROR E3

****If you entered too many wrong codes and got an ERROR E3 message displaying you'll need to do an additional step for even the correct unlock code to work.****

Disconnect your negative battery terminal (or pull the radio fuse out if that's easier for you) for 30 seconds then reconnect it and then the radio will say "CODE" again and you can put in your correct unlock code.

So what happened to begin with?

If the power from your battery to the Honda radio is interrupted the Anti-Theft feature kicks in, the radio is rendered inoperable and the screen reads 'CODE'. You must enter in the Anti-Theft Radio Unlock Code (usually 5 digits) to make it operational again. You know that much by now.

How to put code into 1997 lasabre radio, i know the code.

If you are refering to the Theft Lock code, you must first push the right sequence of radio buttons to enter the un lock mode in the radio's computer. Once the radio's Theft Lock Identifier code is displayed, you then enter the un lock code into the radio. Ususally, this is a dealer operation as they have the online program to retrieve the unlock code after they submit your Theft Lock ID code. I'm wondering how you were able to get a unlock code without the dealer's assistance.

I have a 1994 BMW I havethe code for the radio but I can't unlock

I recently had my starter motor replaced. When I got in to drive my car the radio was showing "CODE" I have the code for my radio serial number (if you don't then you will need to get the serial number from the back of your radio unit and call your local BMW dealer, they have a database that they can look up for the correct code). Nothing was working and the unit kept beeping at me! I was trying everything and nothing was working. I since found out that the unit had "locked" me out! I rang the dealership, they said to leave the car in ignition with the radio on for exactly 1 hour (this resets it) then put in the code. Voila! It worked!

My radio says "Safe" and will not turn on

You will have to go to the Volkswagen dealer for this, they are the only ones that can give you the correct code. It will involve your car serial number too.
