SOURCE: Quit working

Well how about the cord, ? may be a safty switch has stuck, preventing it from comming on. Try thumpping the sides a few times stomp it on the floor. Not real hard just enough to jolt it a bit. this may free up a stickie switch in side. This has worked for me. DFD

SOURCE: Cycles on and off after reaching desired temperature

The problem sounds like the thermostat which is probably a bimetal strip. It sounds like the bimetal strip is just constantly bending one direction then the other. It could be possibly adjusted by bending it -- this would be a trial and error process.

Or, it could be replaced.

I am sorry to inform you but Lakewood heater company filled bankrutcy in 2009 and no longer is in bussiness. However, I have found a website that still has Lakewood patio heaters in many different styles that you may want to take a look at, the follow is a link to that site http://www.heater-home.com/category/lakewood.aspx

Patio Heaters Genuine Spares And Replacement Parts

This is the best that I could find. I believe that items like this are imported from China with no support stock of spare parts. In the old days, one could locate the manufacturer in the US and buy any individual part he wanted.

The tilt switch no longer works

if the unit will still heat when held at angle that would cause it to tip over if let go, the contacts in the tilt switch are stuck shut. switch should be replaced before further use as this is a safety/fire hazard.
