Hello & Welcome to FixYa

E-63 error code in your Samsung Microwave is a T1 maximum timer error which means that the power control board has gone bad and needs replacement. However, before replacing it you can unplug the unit for 5-10 minutes to do a hard reset, if the problem is back then replacing the PCB is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Our 2006 Samsung Microwave has suddenly ceased to heat anything. The clock works and the turn table goes around, but that's it. We had a couple of power outages just before this happened. Could it be...

Hi,

Press the "Off/Clear' button to cancel anything on the display, and reset the microwave. This is a soft reset and will simply get you out of any program you have started. Press it when the cooking complete reminder appears on the display.
Perform a hard reset. Pull the plug out of the wall power supply, and wait a moment. Plug the GE microwave back into the wall power supply to reset any anomalies with the microwave's memory. You will need to reset the time of day if you perform a hard reset.
Reset the time of day. Press the "Clock" button, and turn the dial to set the hours. Press the dial to enter. Follow the same procedure for the minutes and a.m. or p.m. Press the "Start" button to start the clock.

My house lost power earlier today, and now my microwave is not heating the food, and has a lower case "d" in the display after the time. Any suggestions?

It is in the demo mode. To turn off here is what the manual says:

The microwave oven and Timer must be off. Touch and hold Timer Off or the number 3 pad (depending on model) for three to five seconds (depending upon model) until two tones sound and “d” or "Demo" (depending on model) appears on the display. Repeat to turn off and remove “d” or "Demo" icon from the display.

Will not heat and the truntable will not run

It's almost certainly the primary interlock (top door switch).

See this file for details on checking and replacing door switches.

You can also see the video at our site, which shows you how to access the door switches.

We have the service manual for the model SMH7178STE here, which should be pretty similar. It will also help you with disassembly.

My microwave says E-63. What does that mean?

E63 is a "T1 Max Time error".

It may mean you have a bad PCB assembly, but I would suggest a hard reset.

Unplug it from the wall outlet for a minute, then plug it back in and try again.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

I have a samsung 1000 watt mircowave that appears to be working in every way except that it is not heating the food at all. It is 2 years old.

There is two posibilities, iether the transformer, is not working or the magnatron, there are very expensive, if all the functions are working then there should be an errror code on display

Jenn Air Microwave Error Code

Hello Hec1152,
I have found the manufacturer contact information for you, but could not find information about the error code. If everything works fine, but the microwave is not heating your food, then the problem is most likely the magnatron or one of it's components, which sadly to say is the most expensive part to replace. Please feel free to contact the manufacturer via phone or live chat to get more details as to what the error code means.

If you would not mind, could you please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it.

Microwave oven stuck on high power. Setting say 80% power does not work as it did before. Model is smh7178ste purchased 11/1/2007

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

Let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

There may instead be a stuck relay on the control board, which we repair for customers nationwide with our guaranteed $39.95 service.

Feel free to contact me directly.

ERROR CODE E 63 COMES ON AFTER 2 MINUTES ON SAMSUNG MICROWAVE

Some models are equipped with a sensor that can automatically adjust the oven's heating time based on the amount of steam in the oven.  If your microwave is displaying E1, E4, or E5, there may be an issue with the gas sensor. For an E1 error, press the Cancel button and check on the food.

If the message is either ERROR or E-6, it indicates a mechanical fault.

For all error indications, try unplugging the microwave from the outlet for at least ten minutes and then plug it back in. If the error persists, the microwave may require service. Please use our ASC Locater to find your nearest Authorzied Service Center
