The Wyse S10s require a firmware update to connect to Windows Server 2008. This is due to lack of support for RDP 6.1.

The update I've found to work best is 6.4.0.18.

The only way to get this update is to contact Wyse. However, I have deployed it on numerous clients (our entire base is S10s) and had great success.

My recommendation is definitely in the certified sevis because if you make a wrong conection wires can spoil the main computer

Build a Windows server with DHCP and DNS and install Terminal Services. Open config on the winterms and setup the RDP client. Follow the prompts, it's pretty straight forward.

Term Service requires license after 90 days AFAIK, so you better have a plan by then.

Thats the easiest way to setup and connect, it is a far from complete solution, though.

I would suggest you google upgrading the winterm firmware using FTP, the older firmware is poor and slow.

Otherwise, these are great little termianls that will last forever and work well.
