Generic problem for all Ford Escort Cars

When I start the car

When I start the car sometimes it will start up no problems and other times it will go click click click click like the battery is dead , yet the battery is brand new. the car is a 1992
I have the same problem.

If you're absolutely sure the battery is good, then suggest you check all the connections between the battery and the starter solenoid, and between the solenoid and the starter motor. Also check the battery and starter motor earth connections.

Any connection that feels loose, looks corroded, or that gets warm after several seconds' failed cranking attempts is likely to want remaking.
