just check what is the drive letter for your CD drive say X. click on start button then click on run and in the run command box type cmd and hit enter when the black window popsup type whatever drive letter you came to know and hit enter if it says retry abort then you shall know that the cd is corrupt or it is blank. if it goes to that drive letter then type dir and hit enter. if you see setup.exe in the list then type setup.exe and hit enter.
Why oo you want to format the C drive, you would not be able to do that. Why dont you try installing some antivirus and try to fix the virus.
In case you still want to format the hard drive and in the process remove the OS, you would need a bootable cd / DVD for the OS. You would need to start the process of re-installing the OS
First change the first boot device in the bios DVD, then insert the bootable CD in the CD Drive, restart the computer and follow the screen instructions, you would get an option to select new installation or repair the existing installation. Please select new install.
Then you would get he option to select the partition to install the OS. select the desired partition.
Then you would get the option to format the selected partition. select the disered option.
and follow the screen instruction an complete the installation.

Good morning! please try to check from the Device Manager if your CD drive is enabled & working properly, if not we have to reinstall the driver, then after reinstalling the driver if still it doesn't read the inserted CD, then try to install a new CD Drive unit -if it works then the previous CD drive unit is defective. best regards
You can buy any drive. go for Samsung \ LG. You can get used drives but now a days they dont cost much so its better to go for a new one. Get it from bestbuy or any local tech shop. Make sure while purchasing you mention drive for notebook.
Uninstall any existing camera installations. Click "Start," "Settings," "Control Panel," and "Add/Remove Programs."
Unplug the camera's USB cord from the computer.
Reboot your computer.
Insert your camera's setup/installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. (If the setup program does not start automatically within a few seconds, type d:setup in the "Start & Run" menu at the bottom of your screen, replacing d: with your CD-ROM drive letter).
Follow the instructions described by the camera setup program, and plug in your camera only when prompted. This is usually done after rebooting your computer..
