What operating system do you have? If it has a green start button in the lower left corner it is XP. If its a windows logo in a blue circle it should be xp.
Also, what model printer do you have it will either be listed on the front of the printer or the back or bottom.
Also, you may be able to use Windows Update by opening Internet Explorer and choosing Tools > Windows Update. Once it fully loads you will have choices of either Express or Custom. For printer drivers, I would choose custom. The on the left you will see an option for Hardware Drivers. Click that and it will list all the drivers that Windows Update has for your particular system. You will want to download all those plus ant critical updates from this page.
If this doesn't correct the issue, if you can get the operating system and printer model I will provide you with a link from the manufacturer.

Yes. I have had my Dell 1700 printer since early 1997 or 1998 and have replaced the toner cartridge 3 times, self cleaned about once a year or two and it has survived 7 moves with the US Coast Guard overseas and in country. I can't really say it stands out since this was the 1st and only laser printer I have ever owned, but, I think it's longevity muct speak for itself. I can say that as far as my printing applications hve gone over the past decade, I hve owned 6 inkjet printers and spent thousands of dollars on ink for my many digital photos from around the world, yet, my Dell 1700 is the old reliable with only 3 toner refills, (the good one's, not remanufactered, about $59- 80 dollars depending on area of country), so, I must say I am very pleased with th product and it's durability.

I have an Epsom Stylus DX5050 which is refusing to print - photocopies ok; no red lights; plugged in ok - says 'gimp-printing' on printer window which it hasn't said before (just 'printing' and percentage complete) and then says jobs complete ... but nothing happening. Any clues? Have tried everything I can think of...
