Television philips magnavox model number: tp3261c102
My screen goes crazy and the piture and color get distorted. I hear a buzzing noise coming from inside. I removed the cover and when this happens i see a spark come from the circuit board (not the board on the back of the lamp, the other one) if i flick the board lightly or cycle toe power on my telelvision this fixes the issue. can that small circuit board be replaced and how do i remove it to replace it?

Hi,If your tv is a dlp you might be experimenting a color wheel problem. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming ,grinding, buzzing noises.

Your bulb is burned out. I have had the same problem. It seems this television has an overheating problem--and short bulb life. I have had our 50 Magnavox dlp for two years and just put in the second bulb before Christmas. You can buy the bulb from a dealer on ebay for $99 and install it yourself. I is not in the housing so you have to carefully take out 4 screws and replace the bulb without touching the face of the bulb. To buy the one from Magnavox with the housing is much more expensive. I think the first time my husband replaced the bulb it took about 45 minutes--this time it took about 20.
are you getting sound, was it moved laterly, did you just get it from somone, did it get wet, does it make clicking noises, was the picture color/ convergence blurring before this, were the colors slowly seperating such as red/blue/green?, did the picture bow on top and bottom or sides prior to tihs, was there anything note worthy prior to the blank screen.
generally its IC convergence problem with the larger philips projection TV's however I need more info on your TV, also size make model # anything you can provide gets us a more narrowed solution.
You have a noisey color wheel. It is a little tricky to replace but not too bad. Also, there are several different versions of these for different models so be sure you use complete model number from sticker on side of set. Must remove light engine and will need extra long philips screwdriver (magnetic). That is to get color wheel cover off/on. When switching ribbon cable, notice it only has contacts on one side so make sure to put new one in same way. Good luck, Russmann.
