Question about Computers & Internet
My DVD/CD rom does not work on my computer and device manager is telling me that I have the wrong drivers installed. I did a system restore but that did not help.
Thank you in advance for any useful information.

According to the info in your post, here a firmware update for you drive from Dells site. This assumes that you have xp as listed on dells site.
If you do not have xp, you can look at the service tag on the side of your machine (it should be 7 digits). After you have that you can enter it here http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen
After you get that info you should have a screen that list the different components of your system. You will want to click the + beside CD/DVD. Then you will want to look for your model number that you listed above and dowload wants available for it.
It usually automatially installs and corrects the issue but if not you may want to open the device manager by clicking Start > Run and typing devmgmt.msc. This willl take you to the Device Manager. Open the DVD/CD section and right click the drive listed above and choose Remove or Uninstall. After it disappears, restart the machine and install the firmware update that was downloaded earlier.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
