hi ozzy, without asking the name and model number of your unit.... simply insert the MP3 recorded cd-r disc OR original disc OR usb flah drive into your unit and playback should commence automatically. if your unit does not support MP3 playback OR usb plaback then no MP3 palyback is possible. good luck.
it may be that your unit does not accept the shuffle. allot of car source units dont. unfortunately it has to do with the OS of the ipod. most ipods run an OS that you can search and locate tracks specificly. i would check which units are listed on your approved list of ipod compatible componants and see what is listed.
otherwise i would try and run it through an aux input which generaly looks like a headphone socket.
The Alpine CDE-103BT requires only USB media that is FAT12/16/32.
You can format your USB medium on your PC to FAT32 then copy your media (music) to the the USB drive.
Insert your USB Drive to the PC
On your PC navigate to Start ->MY Computer
Then locate your the drive that is your USB Drive.
At this time you will want to save any of your data before continuing. All Data on the USB drive will be lost. Next ensure that you have selected the correct drive.
Right Click on the drive on go to format...
Under File System select FAT32. I would suggest leaving Quick Format unchecked. So you ensure that will information is removed. Then Click start.
Next copy your media (music) back to the USB Drive. Insert in to the CDE-103BT Stereo.
MP3/WMA/AAC files are prepared, then stored to a USB memory.
This unit can recognize at least 100 folders (including root folder) and 100 files per folder stored in USB memory.
Do not make a file's playback time more than 1 hour.
This feature is for anti-theft, if there was an easy way to "unlock" it then any thief could steal your radio and reset the password. There is no hack here, you have to call Clarion. This is from the manual;
Note: • If you have lost your Personal Code, please contact Clarion customer service
I've never been through this but they might ask you to send it in. Regardless of it being some system error and not your error. Although if the radio does have a glitch like you said then sending it in might be a good thing.
the best way to find this out is to ask your local dealer or simply (or not) look at your wiring harness behind you deck (head unit) look for that particular wire and follow it back this should solve this
I don't believe this is a user adjustable setting (at least it's not documented). Chances are, it is set within the firmware of the unit itself. Versions of this deck sold in Europe probably have a different version of firmware, allowing 0.1MHz FM increments. You might be able to talk to the European arm of Sony's support and ask them about updating the firmware to the latest European version. Keep in mind, putting EU firmware on a deck that was supposed to be used in the US could cause problems.
