Anyone who says they can't open your watch is NOT a repairman. Take it to a mom and pop repairman, NOT a big store, because most of the big stores send all their repairs out to someone like the mom and pop store. If you still have problems finding someone please feel free to get ahold of me and I will assist you. Good Luck!!

Does the Movado ladies watch serial number 74259821 836092 have a solid 14K wrist band?

The 74259821 is definitely a 14k solid gold watch. I have one, too, and need an extra link for it if anyone out there has one. 267465b2-5058-4a86-99d3-8e2eb936415b.jpg 83ef6643-49bf-4f76-97f1-639d71b4c025.jpg

Need appraisal on my grandmothers old bulova watch, serial # 1518119. It has links as its bracelet and is attached to the watch on its side with clips

Without more information, such as a picture of the watch or more information about the case, it is difficult to provide a value for this item. In general, vintage fancy ladies watches (the kind that are approximately the diameter of a U.S. nickel or smaller) are not very collectible. As recently as a few years ago, these were bought and sold in bulk for only a few dollars each. In nice cosmetic condition and running properly, a Bulova ladies fancy dress watch in a steel or gold-plated case might retail for between $15-50 at an antique mall. They might sell for somewhat more at a jewelry store that stands behind the accuracy of the movement, but because the inventory of these watches is so large and demand is fairly small, prices for these watches remain much more modest than similar age men's mechanical wristwatches.
Some valuation exceptions do apply. Certain brands of watches, such as Rolex, IWC, Blancpain, and other premium brands, are worth much more than common brands like Bulova. Ladies watches with sweep second hands, as opposed to fancy watches that just have hour and minute hands, are more desirable and are also worth somewhat more than average. Also, watches in solid gold, platinum, or silver cases--or watches with diamond chips or ornate cases--are also worth at least their "melt value" as scrap metal or have an independent value as fine jewelry. All precious metal cases must be labeled; if they are not labeled on the outside of the back cover, they should have be marked on the inside of the back cover (you'll need to carefully take the movement out of its form-fitted case to see this). Be aware that "14k RGP" or "rolled gold plate" on the case means it is not solid gold. Similarly, cases that are "warranted" for 10, 15, 20, or even 30 years are also gold-plate, not solid gold.
Today, with the increase in gold prices, many people have been buying these watches to melt down the gold-plated or gold cases for their gold value, throwing out the watch movements and watch bands. This may have a long-term impact of raising the value of these watches in the long term, as this is decreasing the supply of available watches of this type (it's also frustrating to watch collectors to see the watch movements discarded, as these are valuable sources of replacement parts that are no longer made). However, tens of thousands (more likely hundreds of thousands) of these watches exist in the United States alone, so there is little likelihood that these will become scarce in the immediate future.

I have a geneve quartz 14k gold mans watch dont no how to take apart to put battery in.

mcdevito75 here, Battery usually lasts 1 year and longer, even if you did change the battery yourself now, you"d forget for a year or even longer next time battery needeed to be changed, I know I did. Add to this you can easily destroy your watch with in-correct handleing. BEST BET, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for this battery change $10--$15.00 and peace of mind.

Hello Good afternoon, my name is Hugo Mejia i am writing you because i would like to get some information about a watch that a person sold me, i try to find its description and characteristics on the internet but i wasn't able to find it. Could you please tell me if it is a model from your company or if is not one of yours please? basically at the back on the top says: MWC00803 down says: stainless steel case, down this writing it says: sapphire crystal.. down this line has a circle of 1cm of diameter aprox. with a sign like a M and a little bit down this sign its another sign like a W, the M and W sign are both inside the circle of 1cm. basically the M on top of the W in the inner circle, down this circle it says 71-750, down this writing says 5 atm water resistant and the last line can be read the word: swiss and that´s all on the back, all of the writing is in uppercase words. At the front of the watch it has the same logo of a M on top of the W both are white inside a 2 or 3 milimiters red circle, the screen is all black with 12 numbers like 1,2,3 till 12 such numbers are in white color as well at the bottom of the scren it says SWISS, in the middle of the screen has three small circles about 8 milimiters wide, the first circle between 9 and 11 hours it says 30 and 15 down this circle can be read mw2 (the number 2 its been written like a square ecuation from maths) the second circle located between 1 and 3 hours can be read 0 and 5 and the last circle has written "60" plus a small circle with numbers to use or move with the watch's wheel with the word chronograph and that is it. the watch is almost like a 4cm high per 4cm wide in square form with metallic case on the wirght side in the middle has the watch wheel written the M on top of the W both of them are inside a 2 or 3 milimiters red circle plus another 2 almost square buttom of half cm of large by 3 milimiters high one of them is on top and the other one is down the red circle of the watch's weel. i hope that it is one of your models, hope to hear from you. saying this .. have a nice day!!!!! kindly regards.
