Kenwood KDC-MP832U display not working

Hi, I got the Kenwood KDC-MP832U CD player for christmas 2 years ago...a few days ago the dosplay started fading...then it became black, I removed the front panel and it came back, since yesterday it's constantly black. The unit is working...you can listen to radio, CD or USB, but there is nothing on the display. Is something broken or there is a way toy fix this?

thanks

Mari

I have a Kenwood KDC-MP632U and I have the same problem. The display is illuminated and I can use the dials and buttons to control like normal, but the display does not come on.

I had this problem! It was the Cars Battery. Kenwoods unit's fade or go completely blank when there is little power to power the stereo. Try charging your battery or grabing a new one from a scrappy! I was all over the net looking for help but finally sorted it!

P.S. My younger brother had to do the exact thing and it worked for him as well!!!

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

when the speaker wirer has a short circuit or touches the chases of the vehicle activates the protect function. so you need to get it serviced or do it your selves.Read the manual. http://www.kenwoodusa.com/UserFiles/File/UnitedStates/Consumer/Manuals/kdv415u.pdf

My KDC-X659 STOPPED PLAYING!

Hi Jeka65,

I think you need to have at least 11 volts or more on the yellow and the REd wires for it to turn on. Using a volt meter set on DC volts and at least a range of 20Volts, you can read the REd wire to the Black wire and see if you have at least 11 volts. Do the same for the yellow wire and reference to the black wire. you need at least 11 volts, Your car should be running about 13.6 volts across the battery.
