I have 2 e-machine computers. One is operating on Windows 7 and the other is Windows XP. Trying to connect a wireless Netgear adapter G-54 . The windows xp says I am conncected however I can not connect to the internet. It displays windows cannot display this page

Drivers issue

This model doesen't have Windows 7 support yet. Try with this driver version http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2566, it might work with Windows 7 as well. Otherwise you'll have to wait or change the operating system.

Well, this adapter is compatible with Windows XP. Please visit the below link to download the latest adapter drivers:

Install the adapter using these drivers and configure the wireless connection.

My advice is install this netgear software in Windows XP Operating System . so you try to convert your PC to win XP, then install this software. You will able to access the wireless connection

Netgear wireless connection

Check the wireless IP address on the XP computer. try to ping default gateway and see whether its giving succesfull reply, after that do ping yahoo.com and check successfull pinging. if it pings successfully the yahoo website , then you should go online.
