Hi. I use this to go running with. A friend borrowed it for two hours and it poured down rain on her. I don't know if she got it wet, but am assuming she did. When I got it back it froze up and I pressed the reset button. The only thing now is that my volume buttons are not working.
I know it registers because if I put the "hold" on and press it, it will tell me I need to undo the hold before pressing anything.
I am currently setting it aside and hoping that if it got wet internally maybe letting it dry out may help. Anything you can think of will be appreciated since I love this player and don't want to lose it.

hold volume button down util the icon turns red then adjust volume with right arrow for up and left for down. when icon goes back to black it should have adjusted to the volume. Also the volume is listed numericly the higher the number the louder it gets.
hi there, in order to unlock the volume on the iPod, follow my directions. First, scroll down to settings on the iPod. There should be a thing for volume on the iPod. Click that and scroll it to the right. Then click enter and it should reset the volume. If he set a password, then you need to talk to that friend and ask him what password he set. If he doesn't know, then you need to restore the iPod.
Okay well if its locked then you can push the button to have it unlocked at the top, but if its frozen locked then you need to hold down the center button and the menu button at the same time for at least 10 seconds and then let go. Should reset.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off,
hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer
while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button
for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into
recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says
Found New Hardware Wizard.
