Question about Intel Motherboard

2 Answers

Gigabyte GA-8Ip775-g I had my machine up and running for almost 1 year and one day I walked into my office to a dead machine. I replaced the power supply and still no machine, any ideas? I have 2 gigs of memory and a terabyte of internal storage. I tlked to another exspert and he said the power supply was not getting the ground back and I should run a jumper accross the pins 13 and 14. I really dont care to do this ! I would rather tear apart the machine and rebuild it.

Not all power supplies are the same wattage . Try to use a power supply larger or same , smaller ones won't even create a fan to spin if not enough juice

Hello i think your power supply is dead.

Try to replace it with one you know is working.

Here is the gigabyte homepage:

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/download-center.aspx?kw=ga-8i915me

Try to download a manual after you find the right mainboard.

Good luck

Ga-m55sli-s4 dead i was using it last night and switched off and morning when i tried to start my computer i got not display at all i checked powersupply and all but found that the board itself was dead...

I am not sure how you checked the power supply but they can be misleading. Many failed power supplies still have enough power to turn on lights and spin fans but not enough for a system startup.

Unfortunately, MB's are not designed to be serviced. Considering 1 or 2-hours of labor costs more than most motherboards these days it is just not worth trying to fix them. Therefore, if it is not the PS you need to buy a new MB.

Good luck!

well, do the capacitors look distended? (bent out of shape, bulged, burst etc.) is the power supply good? (sufficient power rating, new) other than that the only thing i can think of is that your bios is no good

Gigabyte motherboard GA-8KNxp will not power up

If you have just installed a new mother board, refer to your manual and double check your connections for pwr switch. If this is a machine you've had for a while and it just stopped powering up then your power supply is probably broken.

Fried Motherboard

if you are sure the entire thing is fried, and you have to be sure, i would reccommend a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R motherboard, if your processor is an intel, it does down to pentium d, and ddr2 ram. i bought one of these and i can still upgrade to core 2 quad if i wanted. (does not support AMD processors,or ddr1 ram). will work for a long time, 5 year warranty at some places
