Color won't converge

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

Phillips HDTV looks like it is in 3D

Your convergence ic's went bad and possibly took out the fuses in that circuit. I believe they are stk392-120's on that set. Also, check all the resistors around them. Should be located on two heatsinks near front of chassis. Good luck.

You need to replace both convergence ICs they are both STK392-120 and you will also need four 6.8 ohm 1 watt metal film resistors. You can get the ICs and resistors at the following link and they will provide free instalation instructions with pictures so you can do the repair yourself. Here is the link.

Philips 66P920217F Chassis DPTV305F

I fixed that issue on my in-laws set - twice. Both times there was a different reason. First time, I went to the menu ON THE SET ITSELF, not the remote, and had to select an option. Don't remember what, but should make sense when you poke around. The second time was quick and easy, the cable company had swapped the blue and green component cable. Good luck!

Philips 50PP9202 50 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television?

Hello Anthony14,

This is an indication the the red convergence amplifier has goone bad you will need to replace the convergence correction modules. Now before replacing these you may want to make sure that the bias resistors and the zener diodes are ok. The convergence ICs are part number STK329-110 or STK329-150.

I would suggest that you get a schematic and equipment to make the needed tests, or take the set to a shop to replace the bad components.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Color Set-up Problem

This set has had many problems with convergence amps going bad. More than likely this is what is going on. You can take board up and look for a loose connection first and if not then resolder anyway, but you probably need to order the STK's 392-*** Not sure what they are in this set maybe 110's. Replace both and the 4 resistors that stands up next to them.

Philips 50pp9202, no picture but sound is fine.

I have the 51 inch of this model and I have found that usually it give you some indication before going completely out. Like color problems, sound, or just video disappearing. Most of the time it will be the convergence amps going bad, but you should have seen some color distortion. If not then it could be the vertical output. TDA8177 needs replacing and check caps around and diode, If not this then look for open fuse in HV line to crt's. Also power supply fuse like 1900, 2004, 1300, etc.
