Take out the battery, and put it in a bowl of rice. The rice will take out the moisture... Then turn the phone on and pray that it sill works

My phone dropped in the toilet and i put it in rice about 30 min later. i have it sitting in rice over night. my parents will kill me if they find out and my contract isn't up for another year. what do i...

Is that a postpaid plan from your service provider? Try to bring it to a service center. You can have it replaced or fix for free if you still covered with manufacturer warranty or service prover warranty. And the best way you can do with your parents is tell them what the real thing happen on your phone. I know and I hope they will understand that.

My samsung impression dropped in water and touch screen broke

I also dropped my Samsung Impression in the toilet, I immediately took the phone took the protective case off, took the battery cover off, and took the battery and my SIM card out and towel dried it as best as I could. Then I sat it on the floor next to my fan and let it dry until I got to my grandparents a little while later and I put it in a bowl of rice, completely covered the phone and battery with rice and left it sit overnight in the rice and all of the next day, so far i've had it on about 20 minutes and have had no problems with it so far, another solution is to sit it in the sun, to further dry it out. Water damage will void warranties on your phone and battery and your provider will know instantly if the damage was water related when they take your battery cover off, there is a small square sticker that when dry and hasn't touched water should be white, but as soon as it comes into contact with water it turns red, there is also one of these stickers on the battery. My stickers were red and after sitting in the rice they look like they got lighter in color considerably, I don't know if that is really possible but appearance wise it looks that way. I hope this helps anyone who has had this problem. Good Luck!

Got my sidekick 2008 wet & now screen wont work

Hello xxlucygoosie,

First off you did the right thing, however you need to leave it for more than just a night, more like 48 hours at least, add a good amount of rice.

Replacing the screen likely would not work as you probably have damaged more than just the screen(the main board) when you tried to turn it on if there was any water in it then you shorted it out.

You will have to replace the phone if you can not dry it out more and it works on some miracle.

Sorry for your misfortune, and thank you for trying Fixya!

Hey wv

Sorry, Just got up and opened the laptop to see the latest.

So, I'm as much in the dark as you are. Weren't some of you off in a chat room yesterday where you could talk in peace?

Last night I was waiting for Hoku to show up and find out how his new attorney's were and he's in court today. But, I filled him in.

What I saw in the process of happening yesterday was a full blown nuclear holocaust, not just a flame war.

I think Lauren was hopeful that Ginko would let the matter go and blow over but that didn't happen so someone got tasked with removing offensive posts and it looked like someone may be on guard for that too. That's what a Mod would do, anyway. So, its what everyone wanted.
