It does take rechargeable batteries. Remove the back and change batteries for Ni-cad or similar rechargeable batteries. Trying to recharge normal batteries is dangerous. Any rechargeable make of battery will normally work and they recharge when phone is in cradle
Anytime the extension stops working, it is generally caused by a dead battery (90+% of the time). It is occasionally caused by the extension base not charging the battery. Try to pay attention occasionally to the charge status on the extension phone.
If the line indicator lights worked before changing the batteries, check the polarity of the new batteries. The lights should only come on when the line is in use by someone else.

Plus when we try to answer a call or place a call all we get is a busy
signal both auditory and in the display window. SOLUTION: you might want to change a new phone line, that's maybe the culprit, most of the time is the phone line is worn out first due to too many reasons.

For Panasonic system (especially for KX-T7633), you have to make changes from extension 101.
1. leave handset in the cradle then press "program".
2. Dial *# then "SP-PHONE" button until you see something like time set something something
3. manually input correct date then time then press "auto dial/store" button.
4. pick up the handset then hang up to save.
