Question about Car Video Monitors

1 Answer

Screens Hi my name is Dan. about 8 months ago i had two of your TM-7170 screens installed in my 2008 silverado trucks headrests. last week i was having an issue with my kenwood dvd/navigation and had it looked at a car audio service place. as they worked on it to solve the problem they found no issues with the connection to my reciever. anyways, what im getting at is when they were working on the reciever and pulled my seat all the way back, it cause the cable plugged into the screen to come loose and cause it to not turn on when i hit the power button. i told him of the problem and at first he thought it was the fuse and replaced that and then checked to make sure there was power in the wires, he then eventually found out the connection got loose where you plug the wire into the screens wire inside the seat. before all this occured, when i used to turn my truck on the screens stayed off unless you manually turned them on, that is the way i liked it. after this incident, the screen which the guy accidently unplugged now turns on completely when i turn the truck on while the other screen stays off like it should, unless turned on manually. i compared both connections and fuses on both seats and they are exactly the same. how do i make the screen that was accidently unplugged go back to staying off when i turn the truck on, unless i turn it on manually. do u have any suggestions to what i should do or look for, thanks alot for your time and help.

THE WIRING MAY HAVE BEEN ALTERED DURING THE TROUBLESHOOTING PROCESS. THE TV WORKS LIKE THE RADIO IN THAT IT HAS A MEMORY WIRE AND A TURN ON WIRE. IF THE WIRES ARE WRONG THE UNIT WON'T REMEMBER TO STAY OFF WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED ON. ALSO CHECK THE MENU FOR THE OPTION TO CONTROL THIS FEATURE BEFORE U RETURN TO THE SHOP. CHECK THE MENU FOR AN OPTION THAT CONTROLS IGNITION KEY AUTO ON/OFF TYPE FUNCTION. THE TV'S SETTINGS MAY HAVE BEEN RESET WHEN UNIT LOST POWER

Connecting headrest monitors to Kenwood DDX-6019

Youll have to run sets of cables from your head unit to the seats, youll prob only need video, power, and ground if the sound will come from your speakers. For the same display on either monitor run to first position then link the 2 monitors.

One of my screens shows the video upside down

It could be that the monitor was installed upside-down; other than that, check the settings on whatever device your feeding video to the screen with- a PC, a DVD player? It might have rotation settings.
