Hi-

Hi chances are you are having a bad mainboard for your TV, you can only access it by opening the TV so that you can check on it, before you do that check the warranty status of your television first so that you wont void it if you open it up, and suggesting that you have it check by an experienced technician. Thanks for using Fixya!

Hello,

You TV now require a TV LCD specialist to personally check all the parts inside. My final diagnose is the power input of the tv cannot regulate the correct voltage to project the picture on the screen. so if the power input is in correct out put you need to isolate some parts and test it using multimeter or any specific tools for testing in the capacitor, regulator and some other resistor and diode. when resistor burnout means that there is a short circuit either in regulator..

But for most effective solution is to let check the TV personally by electronic tech.

Most LCD faults are of two types
1 Dead (Psu faults)
2 Display Panel Faults

Posted on Jul 20, 2008

  • Kleanthis Mavropoulos
    Kleanthis Mavropoulos Jul 20, 2008

The Psu are Just like any Psu using SMPS (chopper), so use normal PSU fault finding techniques
Start with , Any power from secondary of chopper transformer, at the diodes)
usual PSU voltages are 5v,3.3v 12v (the 12v feeds the CCF tubes power generators)
If yes the psu ok, If no check for 320v across mains smoothing capacitor.
If 320v ok but no output, check for shorts on the output lines (schottly diodes)
If the PSU is running and there are any leds glowing on the front
check to see it the flurecent tubes (on each side) are glowing
they usually have their own supply generators powered by 12v from PSU

All faults that are within the panel aren't repairable (Specialist repairs are possible , But the COST)

    Dear Sir,

There are two main power supply capacitors in this set. they are C-809
and C-810. One their negitive lead on the printed circuit boar, you
may need to repair the area, and resolder that lead also. Because the
factory left out a printed circuit board eyelet, the connection will
come loose over time. Also be sure to check the fuse number F-860, as
this will sometimes blow when these connection are bad. If you replace
the fuse and the set works, you could be making a fire trap if you do
not resolder these connections as they have caused some problems in the
past, as this is why Toshiba has sent out a service bulliten on this
problem. Now one thing for the both of you. If you do not have any
solid stae repair experience, please play it safe and do not attempt to
do this repair by yourself. Call in a pro to assist you as these
capacitors may be floating from the printed circuit board and are fully
charges up and can cause a seriuos shock to you. Bottom line? BE
CAREFULL!!! Good luck and let us know how you made out with this
    repair.

    Thanks
    Good luck

The model you've provided is for a rear projection TV. The failure on Toshiba's rear projection TV is found most of the time in the convergence circuitry.
This ty
pe of repair is not a DIY, if you take the TV for repair it might cost you anywhere between $300.00 to $400.00

Can you check the specs on your TV and see if it's a LCD. I have the same model that is why I'm saying is a rear projection.

Here's is the solution for you, replace the STK392-110 ICs and you will get the TV working again, you should know where locate them on the circuitry.

    Good Luck.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

TOSHIBA MODEL 32RV530U WILL NOT TURN ON YELLOW LIGHT IN FRONT BLINKS 3 TIMES

This could very well be a problem with the power supply not allowing the TVs to start up but can also be caused by a problem with the TVs firmware. I would suggest downloading the firmware and following the steps from the following link. The download and steps are in the firmware tab after clicking the link. Be sure that even if you have no picture while applying the firmware update that you under no circumstances remove power from tv for at least 15mins. This is to ensure the firmware completely loads. If you remove power while it's still updating the board may be corrupted. http://support.toshiba.ca/support/ceg/center/en/index.asp?p=32RV530U

What to do when your Toshiba 55TL515U powers on, works fine for a few hours, then suddenly turns off, and then continues to click as if it is turning on and off again?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board....
