This is nonsense on part of your guests. if thermostat is turned to off position, then oven will stop irrespective of the timer setting. suspect they may be listening to the casing fan which can run for some time after the oven is off

Set clock and be able to tell am from pm setting

The Clock uses a 12-hour cycle with a.m. and p.m.
1. Check that the oven is off.
2. Press CLOCK.
3. Press TEMP/TIME "+" or "-" arrow pads to set the time of day, including a.m. or p.m.
4. Press CLOCK or START
The Timer can be set in hours or minutes up to 12 hours and 59 minutes.

1. Press TIMER.
2. Press TEMP/TIME "+" or "-" arrow pads to set the length of time.
3. Press START to begin the countdown. If enabled, end-of-cycle tones will sound at end of countdown.
4. Press TIMER twice to cancel the Timer. Do not press the CANCEL/OFF keypad because the oven will turn off.
5. If the TIMER is running, but not in the display, press TIMER to display the countdown for 5 seconds

Delay Start:
The Start Time keypad is used to enter the starting time for an oven function with a delayed start.

Hope this answers all you questions about your stove.

Self cleaning issues

this may be as simple as pushing in the door/light switch

1. select a clean cycle and start it

2. aftewr you press start, locate the oven light switch (should be somewhere that the door can hit is so light will turn on and off as you open and close the door) keeping the switch pushed in, press the cancel button to cancel the cleaning cycle. the door lock mechanism should then unlock

let me know how this does

F9 beeper beeping door locked

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

Oven door locked in the OPEN position.

Hold the oven light switch (push in by hand) reselect clean let the cycle start for a couple minutes then push cancel. you have to continue to hold the light switch the hole time. If you have a light switch on the control panel it's not that one it's the one that the oven door engages. If this fails unplug the stove and plug unit back in 5 minutes later again hold the door switch (push in). good luck

Diplomat 610 electric oven has no power and won't come on. is it a fuse in the oven? As power to it has been tested and is fine.......

I have a diplomat select 610 oven
at present it has a mind of its own, with regards to turning off snd on.

I have mislaid the manual for working the timer etc. can I obtain a copy of instructions, rather then buy a new oven when this one works perfectly even though it is approx ten years old.
Thank you.

My front panel displays LOC ON no matter what button I push. Therefore, I can't turn on my oven or use my timer. What to do.

Unplug the oven, open the panel (by removing the 2 screws) above the lock handle. Clean it out. Sometimes mice can get in there and move insulation, etc. and if anything gets in between the lever and the micro switch it will make the oven think that it is locked. If it is clean, push the lever back and forth and listen for a clicking noise. If it doesn't click you need a new micro switch. I just had a similar problem and Tom at quality@applianceeducator.com helped me fix mine. Hope this helps you!

Oven and clock inop

You might have a problem with the circuit breaker - reset it by pressing the switch ocated on he lower edge of the backguard (in Canadian models). There are several things that could cause the oven not to operate, but generally you would get a message on the display - "Lock", "Sabbath" etc. Just in case your display is damaged and that's why you don't see any message, try to press and hold the "cancel" and "cook and hold" pads for three seconds (to unlock the oven in case it is locked), and then check to see if the oven works. if not, repeat this procedure (to make sure that you didn't lock it just now), and then press and hold the "clock" pad for three seconds (to unlock the oven in case it is in "sabbath mode"). If it still doesn't work, you might need to replace a fuse.
