Thanks for the suggestion re the F8 button but I tried and I'm getting no response whatsoever from that.
The motor is running but nothing else is happening regardless which
button I a press. As I said it all started when the screen just went
blank and since then it's just the same..
Is there any other way to get the menu to come up ?

Try using your Last Good Saved Settings in that same menu where your press F8....

If it is a software based problem, which i think it is, do the Last Good Saved Settings, and it should load up.

laptop starts up but the screen is blanck . when i fiddle with the pin underneath the screen latch it goes on and off. what can i do to fix this .or can i bypass that switch help me plzzzzz
