- Have you tried the steps mentioned in the link to connect a wireless keyboard and mouse to the Gateway computer? http://support.gateway.com/s/desktop/2009/gateway/zx/zx4800/ZX4800faq3.shtml
http://www.support.gateway.com/s/Manuals/Profile/WirelessKb_MouseGuide.pdf

Also follow the generic troubleshooting steps mentioned in the link to connect a wireless keyboard and mouse to a computer.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838398
Note: The steps provided in the link mainly works for Microsoft hardware but the steps can be applied to any wireless keyboard and mouse. Do not install any software given in the link as it will not help you if you do not have a Microsoft Hardware.

It would be helpful if you could provide us the exact computer model number and also the make and model number of the keyboard and mouse.

Make sure the mouse is linking to the wireless receiver on you have plugged into the computer (there should be a reset button on the mouse to establish a new link).

My mouse has stopped working on my acer laptop

Hi,
Do you mean the touchpad or a USB mouse? if its a usb mouse try another usb port, is it wireless? if its wireless check the battery.
if its the touchpad it may be turned off, to turn it on hold down the blue FN button and look at the F1 to F12 keys, one of them has a touchpad icon and it will disable and enable the touch pad, don't worry if your not sure try them all if you wish. You will probably learn something new while your doing it :-)

Gateway 610 k/b & mouse unrecognized..CMOS problem??

It's not the K/M, there probably was a surge that went through, and effected the motherboard in the computer. so you can take it to your local computer shop. But, before you bring it there, back up your important files because they might have to format your HD.

Mouse is not working

If it's a wired USB-type mouse: Unplug it and plug it back in. The computer will recognize it.

If it's a wired PS/2 (green plug): You're mouse is dead. Replace it.

If it's wireless: Check the batteries in the mouse. Hit the 'connect' button on the transmitter and then immediately hit the connect button (usually on the bottom). The red light on bottom will stop blinking and will be steady. It should work a few seconds after that.

I have a toshiba equium laptop and i am having problems with the mouse pad. It works ok when I plug in a mouse but not with the pad

Ok, i think I get what you are saying...correct me if I am wrong.

You have a desktop PC where the mouse will not work while it is on the mousepad?

If that is the case, check this: If it is a optical/laser mouse (a light on the bottom, instead of a ball) make sure your mousepad is not made from a reflective material like plastic. Try a fabric pad.

Hope this helps.
