Hi,

First, you shouldn't format the card on the computer! Format it on the camera.

Check in the camera's user guide to do this.

If you specify your camera model I might be able to give you directions on formatting the memory card.

CAMERA READING CARD ERROR

Check if the card is defective by inserting it into another camera or a USB card reader or built-in card reader in a computer. If card is defective, and you need to recover data, you may need to send it to a company that recovers data from corrupt cards. If there is no data, you can try erasing/reformatting the card. If the card reads OK, then you may need to clean the contacts in the camera. Remove the batteries and use denatured alcohol to clean the contacts where the card gets inserted.

''no memory card'' error on canon sd 1000 camera

Make sure you always turn off camera before inserting or removing SD cards.
Try reformatting the card using the camera settings. Doesn't work? Try reformatting the card on your computer assuming you have card reader in it. Doesn't work? Try using the card in another devise. Works? Cameras in trouble. Doesn't work. Bad or corrupted card.
Lastly make sure you set the camera to use the card and not the internal memory.

Canon Rebel xt does not accept CF cards for no apparent reason

It sounds like a bent pin in the CF slot. This is not a do it yourself fix. Take it to a repair shop.

Card Not Initialized Error

Get the photos you want to keep off the card, and reformat it in the camera. Just deleting pics won't help. More than likely corrupted memory, and needs reformatting, Has worked for me several times.

Memory Card Error

Do not ever format a card.,any card via a computer That does it in. For camera use it will not be recognised. Put the card in the card reader and if there is anything at all on it delete it. Try to reformat in the camera again- failing that -new card.
