I have a 16GB Cruzer Flash Drive. When I try to transfer a file that is just under 8GB to the Flash stick, it tells me there isn't enough room....

Check the propeties of the Flash drive. It it most probably formatted using the FAT32 file system, which does not allow files larger than 2GB.
There is a way to format a flash drive using NTFS file system, but you will lose some capacity of the drive, and transfer speed will be a bit slower, gaining in return a possibility to transfer larger files.
Go to the following webpage for instructions:

Tranfer of data to another pc

need to connect both computers with firewire cable. But an external hard drive is easiest for this, just put all files etc you want to transfer on it then simply unplug from one and plug into other computer and copy straight onto drive and i cannot recommend having external harddrive enough

My HP Pavillion crashed. The hard drive is the sp1604n. I bought a new computer but want to tranfer or copy the picture files on the old (sp1604n) drive to my new computer. The old computer was windows xp...

In your new computer go to all programs then to your user guide. Once there open the guide and follow prompts to transfer data from old computer to your new one. Some stuff may have to be reformatted do work with Vista.

My all in one center doesnt work lexmark x 1200 series

You may want to try to run "checkdisk" on the flashdrive. Go to My Computer and right click your flashdrive and select "properties." Select the "tools" tab. Click on "check now" in the error-checking box. Follow the directions from there.

Also, you can try to defrag the flashdrive. Go to: start>programs>accessories>system tools>disk degragmenter. Then select your flashdrive.

Additionally, you may want to consider ditching the flashdrive software and just use it as a regular flashdrive. In that case:
Go to My Computer, right click you flashdrive and select format.

If you want to recover the data on your flashdrive now, try this (free) software called "Resoration":

Hard drive transfer

Hi, Yes you can. The only requirement is that the 2nd/new/empty hard drive be similar in storage capacityif not bigger. If you are planning on swapping from old to new and use thereafter the new as the main "C" drive, you might want to try and simply clone the old. There are software available online for that purpose. One good example is a "Acronis True Image" paid version. A freeware version by Seagate is Seatools for Windows. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turned up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
