Question about Mitsubishi WS-55909 55" Rear Projection Television

Mitsubishi ws- 55807 clicking sound

This TV is about 8 years old and now when it is on there is a clicking sound and the picture flickers sometimes, most of the time it just clicks, otherwise it plays fine. I really am not ready to get a new TV, but I have a feeling this might not be worth to fix.

I just turned my TV on and it makes a clicking sound that seems to be coming from the back of the TV. It is a 46" HDTV that is about 8 years old. I have had no problems with it ever. I've had it cleaned and realigned almost every year since I bought it new. Today I turned it on and the clicking is there so I turned it off.

My tv was working fine until now 8-9-08, it would not come on. The timer light comes on and goes off immediately.

Sounds to me that the DM is the cause. If this model is 7-8 years old, it uses a DM that is no longer available or supported by Mitsubishi. You could confirm this by calling Mitsubishi at 1800-332-2119. This is there Customer Service Line.
Hope this helps,

I have a WS-55805. Was working great, then suddenly no picture, just audio. When I press the Menu button, I get the menu but I see three separate colors for each menu item. Could this be the lamp, or...

This TV does not have a single lamp but a set of CRT tubes.

If you get menu displayed on wrong clors or colors are not matching then it is either a bad CRT, a bad CRT high voltage power board, or sometimes a problem with convergence board and convergence ICs, however in this last case you usually get no picture and no sound .

RGB picture guns ( CRT's ) are ok. Your set needs a common
convergence circuit overhaul requiring replacement of two IC's,
