Cantact your network provider and ask for a sim update and a gprs install message this will help,also
check the message centre number is in the phone correctly, goto message settings and message centre number,
insert the correct one from below save it and then you should be able to send messages

Did you format your memory card or remove it during the master reboot, some software is persistant even after a master reboot. I encouted many apps that is installed on the Mass storeage would return as soon as the phone had access to the Mass storage.

some nasty apps are out here. I recommend installing on the phone memory but this may not be the best for n95-1 users due to limited ram.
