My Remote will not change channels on my tv

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. I have an Apex ld4088. The ir sensor is not working. How do I change this out and what is the part number?

It sounds that the remote control is working well, and the fault is with the infrared sensor inside the TV. There are so many types of sensors are used with different brand TVs, and you should make sure about the type and its number. This component can be located just behind the infrared window at the front of the TV, to take it out, you have to open the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. The remote control sensor is a three solder terminal component, can be located just behind the infrared window at the front panel of your TV. You have to open the TV, and unscrew out the front panel circuit board to replace it.

Hi Expert, Both remote control did not work. The original came with TV and the Cable remote control. Thanks

Hello
If both remotes are not working with your tV, the infrared sensor inside your TV is faulty. It should be replaced with same type andnumber. Infrared sensor can be located just behind the infrared window on the front of your TV. It will be soldered direltly to a board, and can be detacted out from it. You have to open your TV, and locate this component. It will be in bronish black in colour and will have three solder terminals. The number will be printed on its body, either by ink or by laser print. Note the number, and it iis very inportant when you repalce it. OK.

TV doesn't respond to the remote control...can't change channels

You have to find out if the remote is sending out the infrared signal to the TV remote receiver or not, you can test that by pointing the remote at the digital camera, you should see flashing light on the camera screen when any one of the remote button is pushed (digital camera can detect infrared light). If get the flashing light then the problem is in the TV remote sensor.
