Re: Xerox 265 toning problem
The charge assembly is part of the module. It is called the Xerographic module.Ther should be a small orange knob sticking out of the module that you can pull out and in that would clean the charge and possibly help. But replacing it would resolve your issue, I am 99 percent certain. The only other issue would be the developer housing, but if that were the problem the machine should fault out and just not run at all.I honestly am not sure of the number, familarity makes you not pay attention to some things. Those are customer replacable. Look up a place on google called The Parts Drop. Get the number and call, ask for Britt, he will help you with what you need. If you have a maintenance contract, Xerox will provide the xero module free of charge. Its in a pretty big box. about 2 by 3 feet size. You take the old one out by moving an orange lever sliding the old one out and putting the new one in, there is also a waste bottle on the left side of the machine you pop in and out.

Is the paper a shade of grey with no image? or is there an image with a grey background? If there is a image with a grey background you should try a new toner module. If that doesn't resolve the issue, clean the xerographic drum, make 10 blank copies, if the cleaning doesn't resolve the issue than install a new xerographic module.
You can try this.
Press the access button, You will see a button called Enablement Code, then enter this number. *33886714351 . Make sure you entter the * first, that is the button bottom left on the keypad. That should allow you 5000 more pages. But it can only be done once. May or may not work on that product. But thats all I know.
any 9 code is xerographic. This machine isn't worth fixing if you want me to be truthful. The parts alone will cost you more than enough. Look for DC12 on ebay or something to upgrade.
Sorry, but its the best solution
answered on the other note but, WIth a 265 the problem you have is coming from the xerographic module. Replacing that will help your issue. Charge assembly is going bad and getting hot the longer it runs.
You will start off fine, get some streaky deletions and copy after copy it wil get worse.
Xero Mod will fix it.
