my HP1220c on windows xp

I put some new ink cartridges both black and coloured and when i open the lid the pointer goes to the sad face with 1 dot furthest away from its resting place, also when i try to print it just keeps pushing through blamk pages

I have the same problem.

Suggest a new solution for this problem
