There will be a hotkey to output video (ctrl+f 6 or ctrl+f4 or fn+f4) depending on the model of your laptop
also set the display properties to output video to tv or external device.
thanks get back to me if it dosent work.

Pioneer Purevision PDP-4340HD will not shoe close caption for cable TV

Hi rafaelvh,
If you see the manual.
(go here if you dont have it)
http://ec1.images-amazon.com/media/i3d/01/A/man-migrate/MANUAL000060450.pdf
You can see on page 14 that it talks about the close caption.
"Not all programs offer the Closed Caption option. Please refer to the [CC] symbol to ensure the caption option is available."

It can also be caused if the broadcast source is poor, or the signal is weak.

Have got sound through all devices plugged in however no picture. Using video cable (Yellow) and red/ white audio. Have got yellow plugged in monitor out....

your video source (cable box or Blu-ray or satellite box) has to be plugged into a proper video (yellow) input on the Pioneer A/V receiver and you must select on the TV, the video input where the yellow video cable is plugged in from the Pioneer A/V receiver (use TV remote). Also select on the Pioneer which source component you want like the cable box or whatever. Check cables for quality. Swap RCA video cables to see if cable is bad. Try new video cables. May need to adjust a user setting on the Pioneer A/V receiver. Make sure cable box or whatever is plugged into the yellow video input for that component you are selecting on the Pioneer.

I just order a hd flat led\lcd tv and would like to know if i could hook my pioneer stereo tuner control amplifier to it instead of buying a separate theater system for the tv....pioneer model cx-790.

I can't even find a picture of the CX-790 but the quick answer is a rhetorical question - why do you need to have them connect?

This is all food for your thought. Choose wisely going forward because you will either love or hate your system based on how well it serves your needs.

I'm sure your present TV-related programming comes into the house through a Cable / SAT box, so consider THAT as the audio source (discounting the TV) and route its best audio to the receiver. How do you do it now, I wonder? A new TV need not change the audio question. Your new TV, if it has speakers, could receive it's -box audio through low-end RCA cables in case you just want to watch talk shows or news without the audio system on.

If your TV actuall tunes it's programming via an antenna then it becomes an audio sourc of unknown capability at this point in the conversation. It could have analog and/or digital audio output or not. Treat it like a sound source as you would, say, a CD player.

Your Pioneer is just the sound end. If you want an immersive surround audio experience you do need to upgrade the sound end but not because you have a hi-def TV.

Pretend the TV is just a light show, because that's all it is. Some TV's are just monitors so the question of interaction wouldn't even come up.

The best end result for both watching and listening to high-end multichannel video is to run the absolute finest unaltered video from the source to the TV/monitor and the absolute best digital audio to a quality multichannel AVR with good speakers. The AVR will need a minimum composite video input on the TV so you can manage the AVR. Anything higher is a waste of expensive cable. Mimimizing 'hops' and interconnections lends a better signal path and fewer problems.

Hi .. need to connect my tv audio through my pioneer 5.1 home theater.I was using normal video audio cable ...shall i use component cable???pls advice

"Component" cable refers to the 3-wire hi-def video connection. It's irrelevant to audio.

Assuming you get all your TV programming through a cable box...

The TV wouldn't actually be a source of audio.

I would advise you to route the Cable Box's BEST DIGITAL audio directly to the Pioneer model number ????? (which would be helpful to know for this conversation).

Run the cable box's normal analog audio to the TV so you can watch it without the Pioneer turned on.

And route the best Cable Video (HDMI, Component?) directly to the TV. Unnecessary paths through the receiver can degrade the signal.

Plasma media reciever problems!

Depending on how badly do you want it?First, call 1-800-pioneer and see if they have any left?
I would put a "wanted" ad on Craigslist and see if there is any owner of the TV(could be either the 50" and 43" monitors.)out there do have a damage or malfunction of this commercial Plasma TV that they don't want to fix,but the media box is still good!
Lastly, you would need to order it out of U.S. UK or Japan of Pioneer division will be my best bet.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
