Check transistors Q739,740,759,760.These transistors are near the 4 yellow invertors near the backlight connection sockets. Also check fuse Starts with PFxxx.

Samsung SyncMaster 193P, screen completely dead. Small blue power light comes on.

Same problem with my samsung 193p.only i got no picture in a background even when i was using flash lite. These procedure helped me.

"I just finished fixing my Samsung 193p LCD with similar problem. The problem was a black/blank screen as if it was off. But if you are going to use a bright flash light there was data in it. So I suspect it was the inverter.
Procedures made.
1. Disconnect the power adapter and the D-sub cable.
2. Remove the small philip screws at the back of the LCD and remove the cover.
3. Remove 4 philip screws.
4. Disconnect the 2 data cables.
5. Openning the white cover is tricky. Use a flat screw driver and press it at the bottom middle part and use a credit card and pry from the middle part going to left or right side.
6. Remove the philip screws (black) around the LCD.
7. Remove the 4 philip screws and 4 at the middle part.
8. Be careful removing the switch cable. It is very fragile one of the 4 wires might come out (I did but fix it).
9. The Inverter board is at the left side. Take and remove the 4 inverter cables and the white wide cable.
10. This is another tricky part. Near the white cable there is a FUSE (brown in color). Check if it is open. If yes, You can use 2 think wires and solder on both ends. (Be careful the size of the fuse is soooo small like a half grain of rice). Or if you have a car fuse you can also use it.
11. Resolder the 6 terminals of the each transformer. There are 2 transformer so 12 terminals in all.
12. Assemble the parts back and you are done.

Good Luck. Happy fixing.

This morning the power went off briefly. When the power came back on, the monitor screen would not light up. All connections are good, and the power light at the bottom left of the monitor turns green...

Go check the backlight inverter lamp, replace if busted.
This can be found when you open the back of your lcd and manage to get access to it.
The backlight inverter lamp is located at the upper and lower part of the screen.
Go check also the inverter board, the one that suppply high voltage to inverter lamp, see if this ballast transformer are not burnt out.
The input voltage of the inverter board is 24vdc the output is 250v ac..The voltage input terminal of the inverter board usually creates a loose solder. Use a soldering iron to resolder them....

Lcd monitor automatic on off

There are 4 bad capacitors involved. It may not seem bulging but one or two are leaking. These are the 4 capacitors. 2 pcs. 470 microfarads - 25v 1 pc 1000 microfarads - 25v 1 pc 1000 microfarads - 10v I replaced them all. Next is to clean the board at the back. I got 91% alcohol and toothbrush and scrub. Concetrate on the 8-pin IC which has colored yellowish paste. Scrub or use a Q-tips buds soak with alcohol and clean it. Next resolder all 4 trasformers. Two on the primary and 2 from the inverter side. Also resolder the 2 transistor/mosfet (3 legs) which is attached to the metal (heat sink). After resoldering, again clean with alcohol by scrubbing or Q-tip buds for sensitive part.
Mine is working fine now. Good luck

193P Samsung monitor went to black as I was using it. No display, however blue light on power button is lit, indicating power is on.

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor on/off button flickers

Hi!
The reason why the button of your monitor flickers is because the 12 volts output supply for your inverter board is not stable..
If you have the skills and the right tools for this, Here's what you need to do
1. If your monitor comes with a power supply adapter, open it..check and replace blown capacitor with same value..
2. If your monitor is using a cable power cord..open the back cover of your lcd..on the power supply section.. check and replace blown capacitor.
3. Check and resolder the terminals for fixing possible loose connections.
4. On the inverter board section...check and resolder the terminals for fixing possible loose connections, the high voltage inverter usually loose connections when overheat.
5. Other things to check if step 1 to 4 did not resolve your problem. Check and replace burnt high voltage transformer.. Check and replace busted backlight inverter..

Hope this fix your problems..

thanks.. much appreciated if you rate this help.

Samsung 193p 19" monitor died

I just finished fixing my Samsung 193p LCD with similar problem. The problem was a black/blank screen as if it was off. But if you are going to use a bright flash light there was data in it. So I suspect it was the inverter.

Not sure what the D-sub out of range means.. but if you have to hold a flash light to the screen to see the images it would seem that either your inverter board or backlight lamp is bad.
I would try the inverter board first.. there are numerous places on the web that sell these things.. Just google it..

NEC Monitor LCD1700V

I had a similar problem with a NEC LCD1935, and I traced it to the inverter board which was a Lien Chang LI-2190 ... it seems that common problems with this type of board are bad solder joints due to the temp. cycling, or blown capacitors, but I was too lazy to resolder everything so I just disconnected the BL signal line that goes between the main board and the inverter board, and this solved the problem. In my display it was a green line, marked BL on the inverter board -- I removed it from the connector and just taped it off.  I'm guessing that this is a blanking signal that the invertor uses to signal to the main board there is an overcurrent situation and that the display should be blanked/shutdown.
I'm certain that there are still problems with the inverter and it might go again, but at least I have a working monitor for the time being.
Caveat emptor.
