Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

Mp3 player won't connect to PC

I've had my creative zen vision:M for a year now, and it's worked perfectly fine. Out of nowhere it wont connect to my PC anymore, to put more music on it. I tried using another usb wire from my cousin's mp3 player, and it still didn't work. So, it's not the cable. What could be the problem?

Mine did the exact same thing. It recognizes that it's plugged into the computer and shows the little sync symbol, but it won't let me put new music on it. And when I unplug it from the computer, it keeps the sync symbol on and I can't turn it off without hitting the reset button on the bottom. I've tried it on other computers and with other cables, with the same results, so I know it's not my computers fault, or the cables. I think I may have to either completely wipe it out (which I can't figure out how to do) or just use my warranty to get a new one. Let me know if you figure out the problem, or the solution!

I recently bought an Element mp3 player and at first i could download files on it by copying and pasting.... everything was fine. I got about 116 songs on there. Then I downloaded some more and tried to put some songs on it the same way it always says Error....blah blah blah So I dont know how in the world i am supposed to get more songs on it. It is not even full yet. ANY HELP?

At least I know I'm not going insane. I've had mine for about 3 years now, so the warranty is of course a distant memory. It has to rebuild each time I turn it on (only after it's been off for a while), although this rebuild doesn't seem to take as long as the other times I've had to reset it. However: I noticed today that it has spontaneously deleted 2/3 of the music I had on it. And now my computer won't recognize it despite the fact that the mp3 player says that it is docked. I'm done. I'm shopping for a 120GB ipod. 4 times the memory, 10 times less hassle.

These problems sound to me like its time to format your hard drive. To format the hard drive, put your Zen into Recovery Mode. Put a paperclip in the reset hole and hold the on/off button in the "on" position. Then release the paperclip and continue to hold the on button until you see the screen change to Recovery Mode.

Select the Format option, then Reboot. If your Zen still isn't recognized by your computer, this likely means there is a chip failure on the motherboard. Click here for more troubleshooting advice.

Mine wont connect either. Also, it has started rebuilding the media library every time it has been turned off for a longer period.

Creative Zen Vision M 30GB wont turn on

Problem could be the combination of a bug that causes the device to freeze and the battery running out. If...
- the player won't turn on
- the player won't connect to PC
- the standard reset action won't work,

plugging the player in the AC charger may pull up the recovery screen which will allow you to proceed and reboot, provided the player has no other eg hardware issues.

Creative zen vision :m 30gb wont turn on

if you don't have the kind of charger that goes directly into the dock connector, the zen vision needs a 5V charger ( it happens to be compatible with the PSP charger). if you just plug it into a usb cord it will not charger. you may also need the little white adapter piece the goes into the dock connector. i know only one place that sells older creative zen accessories and repairs creative zen visions . if you have all of that: i assume you pressed the little reset button on the bottom, it may just be frozen? if that doesn't work and you are sure you're charging it right, your logic board is dead.
