I've had my creative zen vision:M for a year now, and it's worked perfectly fine. Out of nowhere it wont connect to my PC anymore, to put more music on it. I tried using another usb wire from my cousin's mp3 player, and it still didn't work. So, it's not the cable. What could be the problem?
-   At least I know I'm not going insane. I've had mine for about 3 years now, so the warranty is of course a distant memory. It has to rebuild each time I turn it on (only after it's been off for a while), although this rebuild doesn't seem to take as long as the other times I've had to reset it. However: I noticed today that it has spontaneously deleted 2/3 of the music I had on it. And now my computer won't recognize it despite the fact that the mp3 player says that it is docked. I'm done. I'm shopping for a 120GB ipod. 4 times the memory, 10 times less hassle. -   goodwinc

Then I downloaded some more and tried to put some songs on it the same way it always says Error....blah blah blah So I dont know how in the world i am supposed to get more songs on it. These problems sound to me like its time to format your hard drive. To format the hard drive, put your Zen into Recovery Mode. Put a paperclip in the reset hole and hold the on/off button in the "on" position. Then release the paperclip and continue to hold the on button until you see the screen change to Recovery Mode.
Select the Format option, then Reboot. If your Zen still isn't recognized by your computer, this likely means there is a chip failure on the motherboard. Click here for more troubleshooting advice.
yes I had the same problem when my creative zen 8GB wouldn't connect to my pc. but I recently bought a new computer with vista, the zen still did not connect but then I installed service pack 2 and hey presto my zen now works properly, hope this helps
IN ORDER TO DOWNLOAD TO YOUR MP3 YOU NEED TO GO TO MY COMPUTER SELECT THE ICON THAT SHOWS YOUR PLAYER OPEN THAT FOLDER THEN GO INTO YOUR MUSIC FOLDER RIGHT CLICK THEN CLICK ON COPY GO BACK TO MUSIC DEVICE FOLDER THEN PASTE YOU SHOULD THEN HAVE MUSIC ON YOUR PLAYER

Mine wont connect either. Also, it has started rebuilding the media library every time it has been turned off for a longer period.

My Zen locked up and shut down on me than when I push the reset button it will not completely rebuild and a message saying there is a firmware problem. It will not shut off until it dies and I have not been able to get past this screen. Is there anything I can do, also since the problem occurred I upgraded to windows 7 and now it will not recognize my zen. IS there anything I can do for either problem?

windows xp professional will not recognize player when I try and install software from creative it says it only supports 64 bit software.
Mine did the exact same thing. It recognizes that it's plugged into the computer and shows the little sync symbol, but it won't let me put new music on it. And when I unplug it from the computer, it keeps the sync symbol on and I can't turn it off without hitting the reset button on the bottom. I've tried it on other computers and with other cables, with the same results, so I know it's not my computers fault, or the cables. I think I may have to either completely wipe it out (which I can't figure out how to do) or just use my warranty to get a new one. Let me know if you figure out the problem, or the solution!
