Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
When i plug in my a/c adapter to my laptop, my laptop is on a/c power. After after 15 mins ,each I minute , it reverts back to battery and immediatelt back to A/C and this continues on. When I remove my battery , after 5 mins , the laptop switches off.
Start by checking the power supply with an ohm meter to see if it has the proper output. If the machine is starving for power it will jump back and forth from battery to AC. You can find the output ratings on the side of the supply. If the supply checks good, then I'm afraid the problem is with the power managment chip on the motherboard. The PM chip controls the power input and the switching from battery to AC, it also controls the charging system.
