Question about Alera Technologies Cruiser (270118) DVD±RW Dual Layer Burner
I have a 1998 holden vectra and the check engine light comes on sometimes.
the engine seems to not be idling properly and this is when the light comes on it also stalls.
the car can start up fine and you can drive off and the light isnt on but it comes on later and usually when you slow down at traffic lights.
when you drive off it goes off.
can anyone assist me with what is wrong and what cost to fix it
Usually just replace the IACV Controller (2nd Hand) bolted to the trottle body on the 2.2's. No need to relearn idle speed, good as new again.

Had the same problem with my wifes JS Vectra.
Passages in the throttle body clog up with gunk and the idle controller can't pass enough air to keep the engine going.
You need to remove the throttle body assy and clean it with some type of carby cleaner.
I did this a couple of years ago and it's been fine since then.
