My coby dvd player will not load dvds. After trying to load, I get a message that says "Wrong Disc". I have tried to put in other dvds, but get the same response. These dvds work in our other dvd player. Thanks

Its probably the laser is misaligned. somtimes you can maually reset it by takeing the disc out and sliding the "eye" toward the center. this will possibly break it, but a misaligned laser is not going to work so you;ve got nothing to lose. put in a disc you know is good, no scratches, and turn it on again.
good luck!

If it is disc made with a computer, you may need to convert the format to one that the DVD player is compatible with so it will recognize the disc contents.

Wrong disc problem

This is a known problem - there is no fix - if you call coby customer service they will tell you to try a dvd lens cleaner -this will not fix the problem. Best advise - throw it away.

My portable dvd says "wrong disc"

Your problem is either the laser Diode has faulted OR perhaps the Lens is "Dirty" it can be cleaned with a special "Cleaning Disk" but I would think unfortunately that the laser assembly has gone faulty, a common problem unfortunately :(
