Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players
At the menu that shows the clips on the DVD, select the first or top movie clip and then the Up-arrow. I finally found the finalise menu here.

That depends on what software you are using to burn the disk, most will do that for you as long as you do not make a multi-session disk, multi-session means its not finalized and can have data added to it later, the only way to read it then is going to be with a pc, if your refering to a dvd recorder(not in a pc) then it depends on the model, post some additional info, every details helps get you a better answer faster.

SOURCE: finalise disc
You need to put the disk back into the recorder, select the finalize function from the onscreen menu, and follow prompts. Do you have an owners manual for the unit?

SOURCE: how to finalise dvd recording
Press the menu button on your remote - go to finalize disc - follow instructions. Note that VR discs can be played with many if not most DVD-players without finalizing. In fact I have had problems finalizing and unfinalizing discs back and forth. If the disc manager displays only unfinalize disc, the disc is already finalized.
