Machine will not lock the lid and the dryer is half full.

my guess is it is the switch, as I am sure it is beeping and will not start. Examine the switch as it may have slid down and is not making contact with the lid. Hope this helped Tim

Our dryer is just beeping twice when I press the start button and won't turn on. The model is ED56U and it is a front load dryer. Can you help?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The beeping sound usually comes when the circuit board which supplies power to the unit also known as the electronic control goes bad and needs replacement. You can also test the door switch before replacing the control, if the switch is fine then control replacement is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Fisher & Paykel Auto Sensor Dryer stops & beeps constantly

Hi emkboyce

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.

I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.

I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Good luck!

My fisher and paykel dryer ( mod# ED56 ) wont start, power is on

I had this same problem with my Dryer. It is making the few quick beeps because it thinks the door is still open. Near the bottom of the opening to the dryer there is a sensor switch that gets pushed in when you shut the door. Try holding the switch in with a knife or something and then start the dryer with the door open to check if that is the problem.
After i did this, i closed the door and my dryer started as normal.

Dryer tries to start - then stops and beeps PLEASE HELP

Check the exhaust hose. If the dryer isn't venting properly it will either stop or the heater will turn off and the clothes will remain wet. If the hose is not clogged check the wall vent tube.

Hi,

Initially, try a reset; unplug from the mains for about half an hour. Thereafter, plug it in, press Power and restart.

If not corrective, verify that the lint filter is clean and that the Delay Start has not been engaged. Likewise pls check if your particular version/model has a reset switch at the rear of the unit. often, this would be a small pushbutton type. Press on it. try again.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I found advice on the Fisher Paykel web site that suggested the problem could be the door lock. In fact the catch had not properly engaged & when I fixed that the dryer worked.
