On the top row, on the right hand side, second from the left, there should be a Print Screen key (Print Screen / SysRq). Just press that key once - it should give you a PrintScreen.

Where is the LCD cutoff switch located ?

Both the D620 and the D630 use the same keyboard.

The picture below shows the keyboard.

Hold down the blue Fn key at lower left, and then press F8 while holding down Fn. Press F8 multiple times until the screen returns.

If that fails, the ribbon cable connected at the main board from the screen may be loose and removing it, then reconnecting it, is the most likely solution.

How do i do a "print screen" with my samsung laptop, can't seem to find the key on the keypad

look toward top righthand side of keyboard for a key saying, (prnt scrn) or similar, if the writing on the key is coloured there may be a key labeled FN next to the control key bottom lefthand corner of keyboard which you have to press together with prnt scrn. hope this helps.

Dell latitude D630 wont recognize projector

Connecting an External Monitor or Data Projector
You can switch to an external monitor or data projector by two methods. 1. Connect the external monitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and the laptop. The video information will automatically switch to the external monitor. 2. If you power up the laptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor by pressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make and model laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCD screen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fn key plus one of the function key. Here is a list of key combinations for some of the laptops :- IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7 HP and Compaq = Fn + F4 Toshiba = Fn + F5 Dell = Fn + F8

How do i capture my screeen on a HP Pavilion G61336NR (VU181UA) PC Notebook?

A general tip, for any computer, for capturing static (not video) print screen is this:
Hit print screen key (Print SCRN, sometimes needed to use a Fn key combination, depending on the computer's brand) - start any program you'd like to import the print screen to (Microsoft Word or any image editor you like) - paste the screen in the program. In other words, when you hit the Print SCRN key, you just copy your screen at the memory, so all you have is to paste this screen into any available program. TIP: if you press ALT and PRINT SCRN key together, you get at the copy just the active window.

Windows xp dell latitude e6400 print screen command? tried fn+alt+ (f11) prt scrn and fn+(f11) prt scrn neither worked looking foreward to hear from you

What the Print Screen option does is copies the screen to the clipboard. You will need to use a program such as Word and past the content to the open page.
By hitting the Print Screen button by itself will show the image of the desktop.
The Alt + Print Screen combination will give you a pic of the active window

You can also try this...
If your Print Screen is labeled in blue & your Function key is also blue then you have to hold Fn key while using Print Scrn , "Fn"+"Print Scrn" or "Fn"+"Alt+Print Scrn"

let me know if you have any other questions..
Thanks!

How do you do Print Screen with a Dell E6400 laptop? The alt-print screen combination of keys doesn't copy to the clipboard. Are there other keys for this?

Hi,

Press Alt+Fn+(Prnt Scrn) to take screenshot of the active application. To take the snapshot of the whole screen, press Fn+(Prnt Scrn).

Please give good ratings if this answer helped you.

Thanks

My Dell Latitude D630 will power on but the screen is black....nothing will show not even the startup page for windows. What do you think the problem may be

I would suspect either the video card or your LCD screen.. A good test is to hook up an external monitor and see if that works. Be aware that when you start it up, you will have to hit the function key and special function key combo to switch it to the external display.
On the latitude, that is the Fn key plus the F8 key.

I cannot do a Print Screen with my Dell Latitude d610. I have tried all combinations of Ctrl+Prnt scrn and Fn+Prnt scrn. Any idea's?

Based on your keyboard layout, you don't need a key combination to capture your screen. Just press the "Print Scrn" button and your screen image will be copied to your clipboard. Now if you have pressed the "Print Scrn" key, go to MS Paint or any other image processing programs and "paste" it there.

Notice that your "Print Scrn" key is printed on top of the keyboard key and in white color. That means that it is the default key when pressed so there is no need to combine with Fn or shift. But if it is printed in blue or orange (your Fn key should be in blue or orange also) that is the time you need a key combination.

Screen is blank

On most laptops there is a function on either the"f7"or"f6" key at the top of the keyboard. These functions allow you to toggle your screen to an outside monitor or projector. This may or may not be the problem so let's try it. Hold the blue "FN" key in the lower left corner of the keyboard down while you try all the function keyes at the top and see if this solves it if it does not let me know and we can look in too it further.. Take care..Mark
