I bought a used 1100 several months ago, and it has been working just
fine until now. Now the orange light blinks all the time and the
printer message is that the printer is out of paper. It isn't out of
paper. I've adjusted the paper, added more paper, opened the front door
(but I don't know what I'm looking for), checked the connections,
unplugged the printer and plugged it back in, and that's my complete
Ok check if the sensor is blocked make sure there isnt a jam in the printer.
make sure it is config right on the cmputer and on the printer itsself
generaly printers dont usualy last more than 5-6 months.
trying giving the makers a call and se what they think.
if all else fails i think it might be time to update

count the number of orange flashes in between the green light. two flashes = out of paper, 3=paper jam, 4=empty ink tank, 6=print head not installed, 7=print head defective, 8=waste ink tank is almost full
Hi Mike, the paper feed switch doesn't feed paper... it switches the paper source from the top feeder to the bottom tray. Do you have paper in both? How many times does the orange light flash in between the greens? That tells the error.
Firstly PRESS THE BIG BUTTON Secondly if this doesn't work remove toner cartridge and look inside there maybe a piece of paper in there. Thirdly Remove paper look down the paper feed entrance check there is no paper there. Finally Replace toner cartridge.
