Open bottom metal cover. Rotate the belts of the motor. Cassete should unload from Spindle and reel back into the cassette. Then please open the VCR top, and you will see a belt and gearmechanism on the right side of the cassette compartment. Manually rotate the gears and the tape will slowly come out.

Tape Stuck

I've checked the entire user manual which notes problems like this need to be referred to authorized service personnel. Myself, I would unplug the entire unit, put it on a kitchen table using a phillips (cross-tip) screwdriver to remove the top metal shell. Remove at least 2 screws each side and 2-5 rear screws securing the top. Nothing like peering inside to see what is causing the VCR to get stuck and help remove it. No release pinhole or tape freeing ejector will work if the unit's tape is tightly wound around some internal object or the tape is stuck because something foreign is inside the unit. How to eject stuck tape

might have to remove bottom of vcr and manually move the drive motor by the belt or the pully. if the bottom doesn't come off, you'll have to remove the top. usually screws on the side bottoms and one in the back. you can reach the motor from there.

Tape is stuck, can't remove it

I remove a stuck tape from a VCR by taking off the outside cover. (My unit was held together by 5 screws.) This allowed me to access the tape and check where it was locked. I had to loosen a twisted tape from the mechanism and then I could eject it. (Note: I unplugged the deck before removing the cover.)

I hope this helps.

(I've been fortunate; I've only had to do this on VCR units (not VCR/DVD) that were out of warranty. If your MWR20V6 is still in warranty, you may not want to open the case at home.)

I think the problem with the tapes stopping is that there is too much tension on the tape. Try another VCR and try to see if you have the same problem playing the tape. Forward and reverse through the part that causes the player to stop. It is also possible that the tape inside the vcr has become twisted or stuck. One can fix this if they are very careful opening the video tape. However, I would not recommend this for most people

Error message E4 and stuck tape

Yes with care. Simply remove the cover and with care unwrap the tape. If you must break the tape - but make sure all residual tape is cleanly removed. Re assemble and put a tape head cleaner through- following the instructions.
