We are using a Sharp XE-202 cash register. Is it set up to give you the total tax collected each day?

Do an X Reading at the end of the day instead of a Z Reading. Z clears the previous total and resets.

use sub/total button

Use 1 on all taxable and 0 on non-taxable buttons

Use 1 for taxable departments

The two main programs to edit are the tax rate program and the department program. have a look at these tables in the manual and set your tax.

You need to check the tables in the department programming section of the book. There will be a setting for tax or non tax for each tax number. So if you need to turn off tax 1, set tax 1 to non tax. See how you get on.

"R": TAX RATE (0.0000% to 99.9999%) x10000
(Enter the rate in 6 digits. Leading Zeros may be ommited)

"Q": MINIMUM TAXABLE AMOUNT (0.01 to 99.99) x100
(Smallest amount for which tax must be collected)

**Up to 4 types of tax are programmable

What are you tax tables set up.  This version lets you set up multiple tax tables.  It may be calculating that.
