uhhhh, wow. That is a main motor lock error code. As in the main motor is bound up and cant move because of a physical bind or the motor has taken a dirt nap. Very rare code. I have been working on Canon machines for 20+ years and only seen that once. One of those what I call "DUMBO SIZE" paper clips truly kept the motor from turning. GFL.....

- Hello Xwy
I just went to and am currently reviewing the"FIXya" website and noticed your response. I would like to clarify. First, The "dumbo clips" I was referring to are the biggest paper clip you'll see. They have set of conntact areas that are quite large and I have also heard them called "butterfly clips, referring to the "wings" that I thought looked like the ears of an elephant(dumbo). Typically foriegn objects like this accidently fall from the copier glass or document feeder area down to the bypass tray located on the right of the copier. This tray was meant for heavy stock paper or transparencies. It is often left open, and is a convenient way for foreign objects to enter the paper path as folks prepare their documents for copying. They stand over the machine and remove staples and clips, and if the bypass tray(Canon tends to call it a MULTI FEED tray) is open any stuff from above can fall into the bypass tray and get gobbled up by the copier. But the bottom line remains the same. The main controller of the copier sees that the main drive motor is not operating which means the motor died (rare) or some foriegn object has bound the main drive up to the point that the motor cannot operate properly. I just wanted to take a moment to better explain the "DUMBO" thing. I wish you the best.
