I have a Diamond MP3 player that I have not used for a while. After dusting it off and plugging it in my USB, it tells me that the device is not recognized.
The screen shows one of the song titles - and I had it playing for a few seconds then it stopped. None of the buttons are responding and I've moved the "hold" button and pressed all the other ones but nothing changes.

Ifyou don't have any music on it yet that may be the problem - if you do try to hard boot or turn off completely for 5min or so to see if you can unscramble the device - if not take it and exchange it cause it sounds like it may be defective somehow.
