The player is confused.. see you might have a lot of songs and with the bluetooth initialized the player cant do every thing at once so it freeze since it is so confused and when it freezes dont keep pressing buttons it gets more confuzed. it happened to me once and i just reset it and it worked. so try not to do every thing at once the player is not a computer.

Bright screen

First, did you try the obvious by adjusting the brightness in the player's options? Otherwise I don't think this is normal behavior and the player could be defective.

Bluetooth/ Insignia mp3

Hi MzM1990,

You can find lots of useful product information about your Insignia MP3 player on the manufacturer's website located at: http://www.insignia-products.com.

(The actual product page for your MP3 player is located at http://www.insignia-products.com/pc-289-22-insignia-pilot-8gb-video-mp3-player-with-bluetooth-technology.aspx)

I'd recommend downloading the User's Manual. The instructions on how to connect the MP3 player to Bluetooth compatible headphones are located on pages 27-29 of the manual.

NOTE that the wireless headphones MUST be A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) compatible to use this feature. If your headphones are also AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) compatible then you will also be able to adjust some settings of the MP3 player (such as play/pause, skip forward/backward and control the volume) wirelessly. Check the documentation on your headphones to ensure compatability.

Best regards.
Ken

Try holding the [POWER] button for about 25secs. and it will turn off. It should work after that. :)

Insignia Mp3 player frozen

If you hold the power button for 20 seconds it will shut off. I had the similar problem where I unplugged my Insignia NS4V17B frozed on the bluetooth initializing screen. I turned it off then back on and it is now working fine.
