Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My CD player does the same thing. i need to press the power off button 2X then it'll power off. If it keeps doing it the easy way to correct it is to hook all you devices into a surge breaker and power off the unit.

Harman Kardon AVR325 stays in standby mode

Was a solution ever found for this? I have almost the same problem, except that mine makes a horrible sound through the speakers before it shuts off. However, after an attempt or two, mine usually starts working and sounds fine (I love how this thing sounds!). It seems to happen more when I've let it sit for a week or two. When I use it regularly, it usually works fine. It's almost like it knows when I'm about to give in and replace it... because it will start working again! Maybe I just need to make an effort to use it more....

try to be a little more clear on what you are trying to do.do you have it connected to hdtv and cable box if so run hdmi cable from cable box to tv and then run optical cable from reciever to cable box you then must turn reciever to cd/dvd to listen to it leave reciever in auto mode go into cable box menu under audio and select dolby digital

Receiver stays on standby mode

Receiver either just stuck or held or having problem in amplifier output area.
Try to unplug it from AC outlet for couple of minutes and replug back in and power up, if works, fine and if does not, take it to local repair shop as it might requires some parts replacement in amplifier out area.

AVR-745 Firmware upgrade

I have done an update in the past/ ONE Thing/ you do not attempt to do an update at the same time you download the firmware update.
You always download the update/ Open/ Read the instruction and follow them as directed.
An Yes/ it is possible that you might be doomed/ but I would go back/ Download the update with out being connected to the reciever/ Open the download/ Make a folder for it to uncompresse to. Choose that folder when prompted as to where it is sent when uncompressing.
Then go to that folder and READ EVERYTHING FIRST. There is a folder in there that is named to read first.
Once you have read it/ you will see that it is easy to do/ and see your mistake.
I believe that if you try it again, (even though your reciever info is screwed up) it will take the full update.
Sorry about the caps/ I am not trying to yell or what every they say about caps. It just is really important to read everything first. If you don't think you understand what you read/ Read it untill you do understand it. Do more research until you do.

Denon reciever

Sounds like you are exceeding the maximum power output of the receiver. Try disconnecting some speakers (and switch to A-only mode if your model has multi-zone) and see if that makes a difference.
