Just bought new Garmin Nuvi 660. Successfully paired it with Blackberry 8830 (World Edition). It worked fine for a few days until yesterday when it would connect for a few seconds, but then drop the phone connection. Can't get it to work. Tried deleting pairing, then redoing, disabling encryption, deleting other paired devices on the Blackberry, and playing with Garmin bluetooth troubleshooting. Help!

I have a Garmin StreetPilot c580 and Blackberry 8830. The first day I enabled Bluetooth it worked fine. Since then, it cannot hold a connection for more than a few seconds.

The best solution is to update your software on the Garmin. Once I did that the problem went away. Just go to, register and update.

I got this finally fixed by updating the software. Goto and follow the instructions. But it is important that you don't only update the Garmin software but also the GPS software (or firmware). After doing this, I couldn't make it fail anymore. Good luck!

The problem is caused when the phone book tries to transfer over. I haven't pinpointed the problem just yet, but it seems that this is the cause.Turn off the address book forwarding and it should work!!

I have problem with the download of golflogix application in my blackberry curve 8310. "network error, can't find the host"

Check your internet connection. Also, go to settings on the phone, options, then about. the third line down is going to say v and some numbers. if its smaller than, you need to update your firmware on the phone. Thats done through the blackberry desktop manager.

Blackberry 8320 address book unable to import to Garmin Nuvi 265TW AT the start of pairing it did import it but once blacberry out of connection  from garmin or disabled, when enabled pairing address is...

The address books may not be compatible with each other regardless of pairing or not. Best bet is to check on in the support section. If it isn't they you can use the dial up on the GPS as well as any other enhanced features that require bluetooth services.

Garmin bluetooth won't disconnect call

Solution below works for NUVI660 as well; ignore everything after step 6 but DO reboot and delete previously existing connections.

good luck

I was having the same problem with my Curve and Nuvi 680. What has fixed this for me is downgrading the Bluetooth firmware version on the Nuvi itself. I was running version 3.0 (you can check your version by going to Settings -> System -> About on the Nuvi) -- I had success after downgrading to version 2.4.

It's a bit of a convoluted process, but here is the procedure I followed:

1. Download the old Nuvi BT firmware from the Garmin Italy website:

2. Connect your Nuvi to your PC.

3. Go into the X:GarminRemoteSW and look for a file called 006B055301.GCD (where X: is your Nuvi drive)

4. Back up that file to your
computer, and delete it from the Nuvi.

5. Extract the file in the zip downloaded in step 1 to the X:GarminRemoteSW directory

6. Disconnect your Nuvi from your computer, and let it

7. Click on "View Map," then touch the "Speed" in the lower left corner.

8. You should have the "Dashboard" view up. Touch and hold the "Moving Average" box for ~15 seconds until the diagnostic screen appears.

9. Press the "next" button until you arrive at the "Bluetooth Status" screen (5-6 screens in)

10. Click "Updt PR" and then click "Yes"

11. Reboot the Nuvi, delete the existing bluetooth pairing, and attempt to re-pair with your BlackBerry.

Seems to work perfectly now -- please let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!

Garmin 10 second Bluetooth disconnect

I have the same problem with a Blackberry 8100 (Pearl). Worked fine before the upgrade. The only solution seems to be disabling the Blutooth on the Garmin and then reenabling it when the BB Pearl is in range.
