sound is barely coming from the tv with volume turned completely up.

If you have another device that plugs into the back of the tv does it do the same thing?

- i have the same problem with no sound from this dvd player. the cables an settings are correct. i also tried the turning on and off of the night settings with no results. need your help - benooMar 12, 2009
- I have the same problem. I have to turn up the volume on my tv to hear the audio, but it's still not clear. When I placed my other dvd player, thinking it might be the cables, which it's not, it works fine - sound is great. Your solution doesn't help. I reset the tv and the phillips dvd player to it's factory settings. Any solutions? - GuestSolution #1

Turn off the night mode on the Philips:
1 In ‘AUDIO SETUP’, press OK to enter
the submenu.
2 Press 3 4 to highlight {Night Mode}, then
press OK.
3 Press 34 to highlight one of the options
below:
ON
Select this to level out the volume. This
feature is only available for movies with
Dolby Digital mode.
OFF
Select this when you want to enjoy the
surround sound with its full dynamic
range.
4 Select an item and press OK.
