My maytag oven is model # MGR5755QDS oven is not igniting. No sounds but one click about 6 seconds after you set the temp. Then it just sits at 100 degrees. Cooktop, broil and clock work fine. The temp sencor seems to work. After I have it on broil and the oven warms, then go back and try to set it on bake, it does show the rise in the temperature. Theres nothing in the trouble shooting that seems to cover it.Well? What do you think?

Mine is doing the same exact thing. I cleaned my oven a few days before this happened and don't know if that has anything to do with the problem.

SOURCE: Won't bake, but all else works

Swap the broil and bake ignitors(they are both the same) see if the bake works. If the oven bake works then you need only replace the ignitor. If it does not then I would say you should check the valve for continuity. If open, bad gas valve. If continuity is detected, bad oven control.

SOURCE: Maytag oven will not ignite

If its a square glow bar it must pull 3.5 apms to open the gas valve. Round ones pull 2.5 apms. even though the glow bar is on it must be real bright. Has it been taken over 45 second to light the oven. You will need some way to check the amps. If its getting enough amps the safety valve is bad.

After a power failure, the clock face went out and there is no power to the duel ovens on a Maytag gemini electric oven. All four burners on the glass flat top work though.

try turning power off at electrical main switchboard for a minute, then back on. reset clock and see how it goes.
otherwise > call the repair man.

I have a code 5ab on the panel my model nuber is MGR5775QDS its a 30 inch free standing gas stove.

Your range is probably in the Sabbath mode. The error code shown on the display is"Sab", not "5ab".

To disable the Sabbath mode push and hold the Clock pad for 3 seconds

Stove and broil work, but bake mode wont light, temp reading stays at 100 and controls lock up.

Know it's kinda late. I had the problem in March and hadn't had time to get to it. I need my oven though. I'm thinking of looking at the igniter, replacing it. Don't want to get hit with a $200 repairman bill. What did you end up doing?

Oven will not ignite in bake mode. Broil function works.

When the bake igniter becomes weak or burns out, your oven would not bake. The bake igniter is usually mounted on the oven burner. It's about 1 inch by 4-8 inches (depending on the model), and comes in round or flat styles. If you don't see the igniter glow at all, it's probably burned out. Replace the igniter if found defective. Note: one of the exceptions could be that your oven is set to automatic mode instead of manual. If this is the case, set your oven to manual mode and check again.

If the bake igniter glows red and not bright yellow or white, it is probably because it is too weak. When this happens, the safety valve would not let the gas out into the oven burner. A weak igniter must be replaced.

A faulty igniter is probably the most common cause, however there are others:

-- defective thermostat
-- defective selector switch
-- defective gas safety valve
-- defective gas valve coils
